KNS Stallions wins ANMA/NASeA Soccer Championship

Kentucky Nepali Society, now an affiliate of Association of Nepalese in Midwestern

America (ANMA) participated in the ANMA/NASeA joint convention 2009 held during

this past labor day weekend from September 5th to September 7th in Raleigh, NC.

Almost thirty people from Lexington attended the convention with different goals of

their own that included soccer championship, basketball championship, attending inf-

ormative forums and seminars and volunteering.

One of our own Mr. Rajendra Khatiwada co-chaired the convention while Mr. Bhoj Rawal,

Mr. Sushil Sharma and Mr. Sailesh Manandhar volunteered their time in sports subcommit-

tee, forums subcommittee and publication subcommittee respectively.

Kentucky Nepali Sports Club (KNSC) Stallions had participated in Soccer and Basket-

ball championship this year. Soccer team was undefeated throughout the champion-

ship and won the title for the first time. Additionally, the most valuable player award
also went to one of our Mr. Dharma Sagar Maharjan. The team captain for the
soccer team was Mr. Jagdish Gurung while Mr. Rockie Shahi took the captainship

for the basketball team.
